How long does it take you to make fifty flashcards? Long enough that you decide to just reread the chapter instead. Card making is the tax on the most effective revision method there is, and almost nobody pays it. The Flashcard Creator removes the tax and leaves the method.

What is Flashcard Creator?

It is a deck building tool. You paste a topic or your own notes and pick the kind of cards you want. The Flashcard Creator returns a deck: front and back pairs, cloze deletions, term and definition lists, or multiple choice, depending on the Card Style you set.

Bad Cards Are Worse Than No Cards

Most homemade decks fail for the same two reasons. The cards carry too much, so answering one means reciting a paragraph. Or they are written so the answer is guessable from the phrasing. Card Style and Keep Cards Short exist to prevent exactly those two failures, and they are worth setting deliberately rather than leaving on None.

Key Features

  • Ten card styles, including Front/Back, Cloze, Term/Definition, Multiple Choice and Fill-in-the-Blank.
  • Recall modes covering Active Recall, Spaced Repetition, Exam Prep and Cumulative Review, each shaping the deck differently.
  • Keep Cards Short, which stops the deck turning into paragraphs with a question mark on the end.
  • Output Type set to Printable Sheet or Anki-Style Deck, deciding how the deck leaves the page.
  • Include Hints, useful while a deck is new and worth switching off once it is familiar.

How Does Flashcard Creator Work?

One screen does everything: a paste area, an engine list above it, a folded settings panel, and the button that builds the deck.

  1. Paste the material or name the topic and level.
  2. Choose an AI model from the selector.
  3. Set Card Style, Recall Mode, Output Type and Deck Focus.
  4. Generate and read the deck.
  5. Download it as TXT for importing, or as Word to print and cut.

Generations are kept in the activity history panel until the session ends, so a vocabulary deck and a definitions deck from the same chapter can be built one after the other.

Setting Style, Focus And Card Detail

OptionWhat it controlsSuggested start
Card StyleThe form of each cardCloze for prose, Term/Definition for vocabulary
Deck FocusWhat the cards are aboutKey Terms, or Formulas for a maths deck
Recall ModeHow the deck is meant to be usedActive Recall, then Exam Prep near the date
Output TypeHow the deck comes outAnki-Style Deck to import, Printable Sheet to cut up

The Card Detail slider decides how much each card carries. Keep it low. Group Similar Cards is useful for a large deck, and Include Hints helps early on and should be switched off once the deck is familiar.

One fact per card If answering a card takes more than a few seconds, it is two cards. Set Card Detail low and turn on Keep Cards Short, then split anything that still feels heavy.

Common Mistakes

What works

  • Building from your own notes rather than a topic name, so the deck matches your course.
  • Cloze cards for prose subjects, which force recall inside context.
  • Making the deck the same day you meet the material.

What does not

  • Enormous decks. Fifty good cards beat three hundred you never finish.
  • Cards written so the answer is obvious from the wording.
  • Reading the deck instead of testing yourself with it, which is the whole point.

Nothing on EizTools is behind a paywall. No sign up, no metering, and a model list on every tool so the same brief can be tried more than one way. If your source chapter is too long to paste in one go, the Text Summarizer trims it first, and the wider tool categories cover the rest of the study workflow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Flashcard Creator free?

Yes. It is free. No account, no counter, no upgrade prompt. Build as many decks as your syllabus needs.

Can I import the deck into a flashcard app?

Set Output Type to Anki-Style Deck and download as TXT. Most card apps accept a plain delimited file, though you may need to adjust the separator.

Which card style should I choose?

Cloze for prose and definitions in context, Term/Definition for vocabulary, Multiple Choice only for exam practice. Front/Back is the safe general option.

How many cards should a deck have?

Enough to cover one topic properly, usually thirty to sixty. Decks that cover a whole module get abandoned in week two.

Flashcards are the most reliable revision method available and the least used, entirely because making them is boring. Take the boring part away and what is left is twenty minutes of testing yourself that genuinely works. Paste your chapter into the box above, set Card Style to Cloze, and start with one topic.
